Shea Butter

Shea butter is a popular ingredient in soapmaking due to its high levels of fatty acids and vitamins that nourish and moisturize the skin. It is derived from the nuts of the Karite tree, which is native to Africa. Shea butter is known for its emollient properties, which help to soften and smooth the skin, as well as its ability to provide a protective barrier against environmental stressors. In soapmaking, Shea butter is often used as a substitute for or in conjunction with other oils and fats to add moisturizing properties to the finished product. Additionally, Shea butter is also a great ingredient for making whipped body butters and lotions.
