Smooth Gel - Rice Flour - Thickener

Smooth Gel - Pregelatinised Rice Flour is an excellent thickener for non-dairy yoghurts.

Replaces fats to get a creamy smooth texture. Dissolves in hot or cold liquids and gels as it cools

This product being pregelatinised can be added to hot or cold foods and will still dissolve and form a thickening gel as it cools. This means you can add more Smooth Gel to your coconut yoghurt after they have been made.

Non Dairy Coconut Yoghurt

  • Use 10 to 20 grams in a litre batch of coconut yoghurt in place of other thickeners like pectin.
  • More can be added after fermentation, just whisk in vigorously.

I love this product. I use it when I make my homemade yoghurt. It makes it nice and thick and creamy.

I made my first batch of soy yoghurt without adding this and my second batch with the recommended amount of Smooth Gel. It definitely thickens up the soy yoghurt to a consistency of a dairy yoghurt.
