Carnauba Wax - 30 grams
Carnauba wax is also called Brazil wax or palm wax.
Carnauba Wax - 30 and 100 gram packs
Carnauba also called Brazil wax and palm wax, is a wax of the leaves of the palm Copernicia prunifera (Synonym: Copernicia cerifera), a plant native to and grown only in the northeastern Brazilian states of PiauĂ, Ceará, and Rio Grande do Norte.
It is known as the "queen of waxes" and in its pure state, usually comes in the form of hard yellow-brown flakes. It is obtained from the leaves of the carnauba palm by collecting and drying them, beating them to loosen the wax, and then refining and bleaching the wax.
The melting point of carnauba wax (82 to 86 degrees C) is higher than that of beeswax (62 to 64 degrees C). Because of this, you do need to use a higher temperate to get it to melt and emulsify. As it is a harder wax, you also need to use less of it in a recipe, as a substitute for beeswax, to get the same result.
